On the Porch with Chris

My rhododendrons

The following section shows examples of the furniture my husband has made by hand. These are not KITS...the furniture he has made starts out as a tree ....he has the tree cut, sawn into lumber, and he stacks and stores it for years until dry. Then the fun begins.

Cherry Blockfront Chest: Solid cherry

Cherry Highboy

Chris made this highboy in the winter of 1978 just before our marriage and gave it to me as a wedding gift to his bride.

Goddard Blockfront Chest-on-Chest

This solid walnut piece is very heavy. At 8 ft 4 in. tall, it took over 600 hours to make. The top chest lifts off the bottom chest when it has to be moved...which is seldom.

Walnut Gateleg Game Table and Mirror

This table has a gate-leg that swings out from behind and the top folds over creating a full-size card table. There is even a secret compartment in the table, which I refer to as an "ACE hole."
