A short medical bio
hmmmm..
Difficult to do when it seems
like the majority of my 45 years
have been tied to something
medical. But, here
goes.
At
age 3, I had a severe case of
chicken pox. This left over the
herpes zoster virus in my body
that just sort of rummaged around
until I hit 15 years of age. Then
it exploded in shingles,
meningitis and encephalitis.
Nearly died. Acute complete with
double vision and delerium. A few
years later, meningitis again.
Not as bad, but still acute.
It
was only about 6 years after the
last bout of meningitis that the
pd diagnosis came. Prior to that
there were a lot of strange
symptoms which had the docs
scratching their heads. I was dxd
with everything from epilepsy to
stress from being a single
mother. Turns out there is also a
brain injury sustained on top of
the pd.. This adds the
description "atypical" to my
pd.
It
has now been 19 years since I
found pd had entered my life. The
docs classify me as being in the
advanced stages. I say it is all
in mindset. It has not ruined my
way of living. In many ways it
has enhanced it. I find that my
creative side has blossomed as
never before. In talking with
other pders, I am seeing this is
not uncommon. It is another
element of pd that has not been
explored in my
opinion.
My
faith in my Lord has also
blossomed. He guides me through
each day with new lessons added
frequently. He holds me when I
am down, and lifts me up when I
feel good. He also reminds me
that I am human. Knowing this, I
know that I will make it
He
is my Father after all
